This is the second revised draft of the NLIST Project Timeline. Future revisions may be necessary depending on each group's progress, so be sure to check back here for the "Big Picture" as needed. This timeline was last revised in June of 1999.

NLIST TIMELINE March 1, 1999 to February 28, 2001

March 1, 1999 Grant Officially Begins
March 15, 1999 Science as Inquiry Applications Due
March 22-24, 1999 CS3 Annual Meeting- Kick off
- NLIST name announced
- NSTA, AAAS, NRC Panel on Science as Inquiry
April, 1999 Science as Inquiry Working Group Named
- Reading Packet Mailed to Group
April, 1999 Prototype Website created by Web Master
May, 1999 Communication/Think Tank begins with Science as Inquiry Working Group
May 18-19, 1999 First NLIST Advisory Board Meeting
August 1-3, 1999 First Science as Inquiry Working Group Retreat
- Initial work on Operational Definition
June-September, 1999 On-line communication/work on Operational Definition
- Begin Criteria and Indicators
January, 2000 2nd Retreat-Science as Inquiry Working Group

March 1, 2000 End Grant Fiscal Year 1; Begin Grant Fiscal Year 2
March 15, 2000 Announce CS3 members of Instructional Materials Work Group
April 3-5, 2000 CS3 Annual Meeting in Orlando- 1/2 day dedicated to NLIST.
- CS3 Membership trial use of Operational Definition, Criteria, Indicators, Draft Rubric for Analysis of On-line Science Resource Websites
- Staff, Working Groups all serve as Group Leaders/Facilitators
April, 2000 First Retreat for Instructional Materials Work Group. Formulation of guidelines. Edit Science as Inquiry Rubric
May, 2000 Joint NASA/AESP-CS3 Membership Working Meeting Extended 3-5 day meeting - Possibly Johnson Space Center, Houston TX. CS3/AESP use Operational Definition, Criteria, Indicators. Staff, Working Groups all serve as Group Leaders/Facilitators
June-September, 2000 Initial Development of Samples for "Catalog of Evaluated On-line Instructional Resources"
- On-line critiques by Instructional materials and Advisory Board
October, 2000 2nd Retreat of Instructional Materials Group
